When i get into a bath and it has all those oils etc in it that promises you ,you will feel relaxed , cool , calm and collected, that is what i expect. Nothing ever happens. As for lavender makes you relax and helps you sleep well, nonsense, just gives me one hell of a headache.
Aromatherapy is great and works for a number of things from relaxation to specific problems.
Aromatherapy uses essential oils extracted from nature’s herbs and flowers. The aroma is inhaled, or applied to the skin, and each of the oils (or combination thereof) addresses a specific disorder. It appears that the body is able to utilize the healing properties of the oils through the olfactory system of the body, and so initiate the healing process.
Aromatherapy practitioners would also have an understanding of the psychological and emotional factors of illness.
This website has some great information and articles about Aromatherapy.
Clary Sage is almost hypnotic. I’ll put it in a candle, and will end up needing to lie down. It’s amazingly calming. I had to stop using it at work because I couldn’t do my job. It’s also great mixed with Yling Yang for ultimate relaxation.
Yes I have. Aromatherapy is one of the oldest methods of holistic healing and still used! I use Sensaria’s Aromatherapy.
They have Wellness(cold and flu), Clarity(refresh and focus), Tranquility(relax and sleep), Release(stress and sore muscles) and Bliss(sensual and gratifying) My fav is Tranquility and Release. It’s great to use them in your bath. I also like to soak a washcloth in warm water and a few drops of Aromatherapy, then place it on my face! Wonderful. Another idea is in the summer time do the same thing, except you can roll them up, put in baggie and place in freezer. When your out and about and your sweaty you can take one out and rub it on your neck. You will feel cooled off and fresher!

For psychologically caused problems it works. E.g. I take the incense smell every evening for sleep.
